By Staff Reporter

The  Eastern and Southern African Management Institute(ESAMI) and  Netherlands-based Maastricht School of Management (MSM) have established a  research network through the “Round Table Africa Project” which will come up with  proposals  that will lead to European investors  setting up industries in Africa.

Bringing together a group of 32 high level experts the research is carried out under themes such as: Agriculture, mining, tourism, bio fuels, supermarkets, public services and manufacturing.

In all the sectors, according to ESAMI newsletter, the research is looking at opportunities to upgrade what is described as value chains with a view to: Creating employment, contributing to poverty alleviation, assisting women to enhance their socio-economic status, and assisting small scale producers to access markets in the region and overseas.

The researchers participated in a pre-roundtable seminar in Maastricht, Netherlands on recently. During that seminar, a number of European experts in research were invited.

The research will be completed by 2010.
