The Arusha Municipal Council is bracing to take legal action against hundreds of companies in Arusha that have ignored a 2004 By Law requiring them to pay Service Levy.
Many business people in Arusha, however told the Arusha Times they were not aware of the levy.

Case of young girl killed after refusing arranged marriage
Uncle arrested, other killers safe in Kenya 

Suspects who  beat to death a twelve-year old girl, who had refused to be married to a 35 year-old man are reported to be still at large. The Ngorongoro acting district director Masegeri Trurai, said the late girl’s uncle is however in custody. 
The girl’s uncle, who was her guardian, has been arrested and is currently in custody awaiting the arrest of other accomplices. The police in Loliondo have also confirmed.

Zanzibar to benefit from enlarged EAC market   
The Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), Hon Abdirahin Haithar Abdi has said Zanzibar’s interests in the East African Community are well safeguarded whereby Zanzibar participates in the regional organization as part and parcel of the United Republic of Tanzania.
The Speaker of the EALA said this  on December 3  during a Press Conference at the Zanzibar Beach Resort in Zanzibar, when responding to questions by journalists who had queried Zanzibar's role and benefits she would expect from participation in the Community.
