Vama, a Royal Discovery in Arusha

By Our Correspondent

Have  you ever been possessed by something special and didn't even know until such a time when a stranger comes and discovers that you had a valued thing in your life?

This is a common phenomenon for every human being. Look critically at your life you will agree with this theory that there is always something special in your midst, but you take it for granted simply because we used to think that good things must be far from us.

Now wait.  When the word spread around with regard to the Roll Back Malaria Global envoy, the Royal Highness of Belgium Princess Astrid, tour of  Tanzanian Northern Safari capital recently, everybody thought that she must be hosted in one of the biggest tourist hotels here.

But, the Princess seem to have played down these thoughts when she discovered a small, but probably the most splendid restaurant in Arusha, known as 'Vama'. She  resolved to have  her lunch there rather than going to the  tourist hotels and restaurants available in Arusha.

It was this time around when majority of Tanzania government high ranking officials on the Princess Astrid entourage, discovered that they have a very good restaurant on their door steps.

Located at Tanganyika Farmers Association (TFA) Complex near Shoprite supermarket in Ngarenaro suburb, Vama Restaurant  specializes  on Traditional Indian Cuisine.

"We have professionally trained staff to perform best service to our esteemed customers, " said the man behind the restaurant, Karun Gupta, stressing that they also host private functions with standard, VIP or a la carte whichever is preferred by customers.

According to Gupta, Vama Restaurant offers gift Vouchers within anyone's budget. "Our customers normally appreciate and treasure the chefs who have been performing a tremendous job in giving their best in making such delicious dishes".

The  menu served to her Royal Highness, the Princess of Belgium was one of the best VIP menu ever served at this restaurant.

Vama appears to be one of the best Restaurants in Indian Cuisines in Arusha only due to having such a high standard of quality, excellent Service, good ambience and skilled  chef's from the core of Himalayas (India) where Royal Indian food for Emperors & Kings Originated.

Finding a decent restaurant is not always easy. But there are good places if you look around.

"You can taste the care and attention given to each dish at Vama Restaurant. Indian food lovers will have a perfect opportunity to experience many different types of Indian dishes," Gupta noted.

The service is attentive and interactive. The wine menu is extensive and well rounded:  A different interactive dinning experience, friendly and attentive waiting staff, relaxed ambience, wide variety of different and delicious food.

Vama Restaurant  opened its doors in December 2005 in Arusha Municipality. Customers started to identify and appreciate the restaurant by its quality and taste of the food and especially the ambience.

Few of the VAMA'S Signature dishes that one should try are Shahi Mushrooms, Reshmi Kebab, Shrimp Popcorn, Sag Gosh, Kerela Prawns Curry, Peshwari Naan, Matka Kulfi and their Lassi's are simply fantastic.
