UNICEF steps in to end desks problem in schools
Local school tests first delivery
The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) seems to have found a solution to the long standing problem affecting most local schools in Tanzania.
For the first time in Tanzania, a total of 1500 improvised portable 'desks' that can be carried and used in or outside classroom have been donated to a local Primary school in Arusha Municipality.

Karibu Fair 2007 attracts 210 exhibitors
* 15 countries stage displays
* Rwanda shows up for the first time

Starting from next year, the annual Karibu Travel and Tourism Fair will become larger with the expansion of the current venue which may as well be changed. . According to the organizers, the Fair is growing very fast and a larger space is now a must.
"We will try to expand by extending the same Kisongo area, but if another larger venue becomes available, the show may even shift," said Karibu Fair Chief Coordinator, Victor Mollel who explained that due to limited space, more than 25 exhibitors had to be left out.

AICC gears up to promote congress tourism
The Arusha International Conference is bracing to step up its role in the promotion of   congress tourism business. The initiative will see an increased number  of international and local organizations holding conventions in Arusha and taking advantage of the  tourists attractions at Arusha’s doorstep.
This was resolved  during the  Centre’s  95th Board meeting held on Monday,  June 4  in Arusha which  approved the  AICC’s  5 year Strategic Plan for   2007/2008-2011/2012.
