The soul-searching episode

My soul wonders in the wilderness, vastness
Counting the species that change my gasps
Enticing my being for the fortunes that glitter
Crying for the embraces, that turns sour
My dreams unfolding only to encounter betrayal

Seated under the baobab tree, in search of a shade
My heart palpating with beats, that scare even self
With the shear size and volume, though without shade
The big-hearted baobab tree, just specie
A wonder in the jungle
To sooth itching back of elephants

My thirst left unabated, with scorching sun and heat
With confusions mounting in fear
Life crumbling on my feet, and muscles so painful
My soul left asunder, wondering in the wilderness

Out in the cities with glass and debris
With bureaucracy that inhibits, not only inertia
But injustice that will ruin, the nation and action
Inviting even cluster bombs, disguised to liberate
My heart burning with bile
As clumsy clouds linger, suffocation the souls
That remains wondering with species
Awash in the wilderness
That souls roam in futile

Down to the deep sees
With stories of whales and sharks
Though dolphins usher in hopes
Pirates roam with swords
May be universe the cure?
Though alien in their galaxies
With science fiction so terrifying
My soul left in perplex
Wandering through the wilderness
The soul searching continue,
The episode of our times!
