| HIV/AIDS VICTIMS TO PLAY SOCCER By Matilda Kirenga A group of people living with HIV/AIDS known as Positive Test Club in collaboration with CHAWAKUA (Chama Cha Wanawake Kupambana na UKIMWI Arusha) has organized a soccer competition to be kicked off on Sunday by Arusha's District Commissioner, Mr. Fulgence Saria. The game will be played at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha. Emmanuel Ndalinoma, Secretary of People Living with HIV/AIDS told the Arusha Times that the competition is aimed at mobilizing the society to voluntarily test their health and to eliminate the adverse behaviour of stigmatization. According Ndolinama the Positive Test Club would be represented by seven male players and four girls. He said CHAWAKUA would have six boys and five girls. CHAWAKUA was founded in 1992 by a small group of women in response to the lack of AIDS education among the highest at-risk group, out-of-school youths. Mr. Ndolinama added that Positive Test Cub is a group of seventy people who are HIV/AIDS positive. He said, therefore, the competition would denote that even if the person is affected with the pandemic can still participate in various events such as games. He also said that most of the participants were previously very weak, but after using medicines, food and pursuing counselling at the Uzima Centre, they can now participate in various activities.
