By Matilda Kirenga The natural resources conservation project of Leominster, United Kingdom has donated Tanzanian shillings 24 million for construction of Ward at the West Meru District Hospital. While handing over the cheque amounting Shs. 24,602,500, the Secretary General of the Project, Mr. Geoffrey Wilkinson asked the hospital administration to ensure that the money to be spent thriftily. The Arumeru District Medical Officer, Dr. Aziz Msuya expressed his gratitude for the existing co-operation between the hospital and the project and also the link between the two countries. Dr. Msuya also pledged that the money will be spent with due frugality. He also mentioned that last year the Leominster UK project donated computer, beds and some hospital apparatus all valuing Shs. 5 million. Dr. Msuya asked other institutions and individuals to emulate example of Leominster UK project in supporting the construction of the ward as the amount granted is not sufficient for the work.
