Children of Jerusalem Christian Spiritual Church handing over donations to CCF Kaloleni.
Jerusalem church extends help to street children centre
By Matilda Kirenga

The Arusha-based Centre for Street children under the care of Children for Children’s Future (CCF) has received various donations from the children of Jerusalem Christian Spiritual Church.

The donations which included clothes, soap, shoes and foodstuffs were handed over during the week-end by the leader of the church, Pastor Francis Mkande who said that the donations were given to denote love, peace and recognition that the children at the Centre are part of their families.

Pastor Mkande pledged that his |Church would continue to provide donations to the Centre as it has been their concern to help the underprivileged children.

He said that as a church their obligation is not only to provide spiritual service and guidance to the followers, but also to nurture the society as a whole. He further said that his Church is planning to initiate an organisation that would provide services to communities with problems.

Pastor Mkande was further concerned that many churches are helping orphans who lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS pandemic while neglecting those whose parents died through other causes.
Earlier, the Matron of the Centre, Ms. Hilda Rimoy thanked the Jerusalem Christian Spiritual Church for being considerate to the centre and asked them to continue with the initiative since the Centre has no any permanent financier.
The Centre has 26 children and has a wing at Maji ya Chai in Arumeru District with 36 children. Of the children some are pursuing primary and secondary education while some are undergoing vocational training.
