By Hiten Nathwani Ramesh Lathigra, a few times Tanzania Open Champion, won the Snooker Captains Trophy at the Arusha Gymkhana Club on Sunday 10th September by beating Arusha Veteran Aziz Kassam, four frames to one in the best of 7 frames. This was probably the best Snooker competition in Arusha for over 15 years, with participants form Kenya, South Africa, Australia and Tanzania. One of the semi finalists, Rahim Jawal also a few times Kisumu Champion, scored The Highest Break of the Tournament with 28 points and won a trophy for himself. The second semi finalist, also another old veteran of Arusha, was Ashok Asodia.
