Business community sheds tears over “load shedding”

The on going power cuts and rationing that now seem to be a permanent feature are not only affecting production at places of work but are likely to totally ruin the local economy.
Although there is special consideration to industrial areas in what TANESCO terms as power “load shedding,” most industries in Arusha are suffering heavy loses due to frequent and prolonged power cuts. Others are on the verge of collapse.

Lake Babati drying up at alarming rate

What used to be a rather vast, Lake Babati, located around the Babati Township in Manyara region has now been reduced into a large pool which is also shrinking at an alarming rate. This home to giant Hippopotamus and a variety of fish species, is just about to disappear.

Re-registered guns number shoots to 3,707

The number of re-registered guns in Arusha region reached a total of 3,707 by August 31.
