Arusha Meat leads in district league By Matilda Kirenga Arusha Meat Company Team has taken the lead in the on-going National Champion League at the District level. Thirteen teams are participating in Arusha District The league which kicked off on August 2, this year targets to get a winner who will represent Arusha Region in the National League. Participating teams are Arusha Meat, Police, Rolling Stone, St. James, Africa Youth, United Boys and Mount Meru. Other teams are Bishop, Mshikemshike, Olduvai, Pentagon and Azimio. As we were going to press, five matches had been played and Arusha Meat is leading by 15 points followed by Rolling Stone, St. James and Police Teams, each carrying 12 points. Three players have emerged stars in the league for scoring goals. The outstanding players are William Magembe of St. James who scored 7 goals while Francis Dafa of Rolling Stone and Mohamed Omari of Police both have registered 6 goals each. According to Assistant Secretary of Arusha District, the competition would end on October 21 and three teams will be selected to represent the District in the Regional league.
