Passionate appeal to help widows, orphans
by Matilda Kirenga

The Archbishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Arusha, Josaphat Lebulu has appealed to all those who believe in God to help suffering widows and orphans.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Saint Monica parish at Sakina last weekend, the Archbishop said a person who claims to be a believer but fails to help those in is an empty braggart adding that a true believer is the one who loves and supports suffering children of God.
Meeting the marginalised groups needs, he said, was the best way of creating a harmonious and peaceful society.
Speaking at the ceremony, St. Monica parish priest Father Simon Tenges who is also the Archdiocesan Vicar, said St Monica construction work started in 2001 when the then St. Monica sub parish had only about 100 Christians. The new church has a capacity of 1,000 people. Land area for the parish facilities has been expanding from the original two acres to the present five acres with a vision to have 15 acres to accommodate a school and a dispensary to service Sakina residents.
