| Tsh. 530m for TASAF projects by Matilda Kirenga The Arusha Municipal Council has approved 10 social development projects to be funded, through TASAF II, valued at Tsh.530 million. The funding is to be done between January and July this year and is aimed at empowering families and social/economic groups in different areas of the Arusha municipality to be able to improve their living standards. TASAF II coordinator in the Municipal Council, Ernest Mkonyi told the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania Diocese Arusha Region Youth (SACCOS) that the qualified projects include water supply and sewerage, construction of classrooms in primary and secondary schools and bridges. Mkonyi said TASAF funds for social welfare projects had to be approved by the finance and economic committee of municipal councillors.
