"2005 Tanzanian Rugby Premier League Points Table"
P = Played, W = Won, L = Lost, PF = Points for, PA = Points against, BP = Bonus Points, P = Points Coming off a heavy defeat at the hands of Arusha in the final and deciding match of the 2004 season, the Leopards were keen to make amends in the first game between the two clubs in the 2005 competition. From the kickoff, the Dar forwards were camped deep inside the Arusha half. Despite numerous thunderous forays close to the Arusha goal line, Dar were unable to capitalise with points on the board as the visitors defended their line stubbornly. Building on the hard work of the forwards, the Arusha backs were soon able to assert their authority on the game, in spite of the hot and humid conditions. The Rhinos went into the half time break with a 10 to nil advantage through a converted try and a penalty goal to inside centre Daniel Nicolson. The second half saw Arusha consolidate on their lead through a further 2 tries to Mike Beckner and John Lloyd to eventually run out winners by 22 points to nil. The Rhinos next game will be against the Moshi Kili Cats in Moshi on the 12th of March before they run out in the final game of the 2005 season against Dar in Arusha on the 19th of March. Following the Arusha - Dar game on March 19, the Tanzanian Rugby Union will be hosting the annual Tanzanian Rugby Ball at the New Arusha Hotel.
