An Arusha- based company known as Marketing Zone in conjunction with Golden Rose Hotel of Arusha last week donated writing materials to Chiswea centre for street children.
The writing materials worth Tsh.500,000 were handed over to Chiswea director, Simon Panga by the Golden Rose Hotel chairman, Walter Maeda, on behalf of his hotel, and the Marketing Zone director, Jayne N. Kathemba.
Apart from the centre receiving the donations, a group of well-wishers accompanied by Miss Tourism pageant contestants visited Chiswea centre whereby they cooked, washed the children and cleaned their rooms and compound.
Miss Tourism contestants later had a traditional dance with Chiswea children.
Chiswea children also staged a play which captivated the ladies.
Speaking with the Arusha Times, the Marketing Zone director, said, " we should not wait for donors from abroad to come to the rescue of children in poverty here. Lets give out what we have".
She requested other companies to make donations to Chiswea.
