The minister for Communications and Transport professor Mark Mwandosya on October 1 graced the graduation ceremony at Maromboso English-medium primary school with a call to students to value education.

He said education was key to career development for everybody in school from primary school to the university level, adding that parents should not backtrack in sending their children to school.

"The best investment one can make for his or her children is education and not physical assets. Good education will help our children get skills for better jobs," he said.

Prof. Mwandosya, who had a successful stint at the University of Dar es Salaam where he taught electrical engineering for many years, reminded parents that in this era of science and technology, they should be serious on education.

The minister contributed Sh 2 million for the construction of additional classrooms and other structures for the school which is run by the Baptist Church in Arusha.

Officials of the school say a plot has been acquired at Olasiti on the southern fringes of Arusha city for the construction of a secondary school.

Maromboso primary school is currently located at the church premises in the heart of the city. It was established in 1993 and enrolled its first pupils the following year.
