As Jaffery Academy braces to "Spread the light of wisdom and truth", the school
is preparing ground for an intake of A levels students come January 2006.
Jaffery High School is better positioned than ever to make progress and provide
quality education, said Mrs Manjeet Bhogal, Jaffery High School Headmistress
during the school's Form IV graduation on October 1.
The school, she said, will offer a range of subjects of specific combinations,
giving students the options to follow a broad course of study or specialize in
particular areas.
The academy founded in 1992 by Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat and now under the
management of a private consortium of businessmen known as Acumen Management
recently invested handsomely on a modern laboratory.
It has also been registered as a centre for the University of Cambridge
International Examinations (CIE). Other schools which serve as Cambridge
International Examination Centres include St. Constantine, Arusha Modern,
Braeburn and the International School of Moshi.
"After extensive consultation with educationalist, the school introduced General
Certificate of Secondary Education, the British curriculum whose assessment
methods are appropriate for a wide ability of range, said Mrs. Bhogal.
During the ceremony, a total of 35 students graduated, 20 of them being girls.
During the ceremony, best performing students were recognized and awarded. The
best overall in Form IV was Shaheena Ibrahim, being followed by Nazeem Abbas
Suleiman and Harjin Saad. Shaheena was the best student in seven subjects.
