Having a byte of IT knowledge

The whole world is going digital and so are most students, at least, those living in urban areas.

  • Computer training is vital as the knowledge prepares one to effectively perform office duties with remarkable ease and accuracy. Digital technology is also a very useful tool in communications, email is faster than the post office mail and Internet cannot only help one to surf the entire globe, but also secure jobs online.

Due to that therefore, I would wish for computer training to be introduced to our primary schools right from the beginning in order to prepare young children for the digitalized world.

Most computer training centers are located in urban areas. People in rural areas are yet to know what computers are, let alone realize the importance of computer education. The colleges therefore should publish leaflets posters and even take time to go there in person and promote Computer knowledge in remote parts of the country.

Where we are heading, everything will be computerized, in fact computer literacy is not just for employment purposes, but a survival skill for the future world. Mind you it also prepares one to be self employed since among other skills being taught, is maintenance and repair.

The digital technology can also be used to save, store and distribute important files and can keep large archives for many years into the future and in top notch condition.
