Rejuvenated Annadil Ezzi clinch ARCA Trophy 2005
Annadil Ezzi, a rejuvenated side, clinched the Arusha Region
Cricket Association 2005 Trophy, at the Braeburn Oval, on September 25.
Sent into bat, Kilimeru Sports of Arusha scored 177 for the loss of 8 wickets in
the allotted 30 overs. The main scorers were veterans Mahmood Somji, Hameed
Sheriff and Hussein Abbas. The best of the Annadil Ezzi bowlers was Seifu
Mohamdali with 3 wickets for 36 runs in 6 overs.
Chasing a score of 177, Annadil Ezzi completed the score with 16 balls to spare,
thanks to some brilliant batting by Mufaddal Kaizer, Mukarram, and Abbas Kaizer.
All the batsmen of Annadil Ezzi batted very sensibly, always keeping their eyes
on the score board as they placed the ball around. Their running between the
wickets too was good, which made it easy for them to reach the required the runs
comfortably.

In between the two innings, all present were requested to observe one minute
silence for Natie Oleforse, the player who assisted ARCA in creating the new
facilities at the Braeburn School. Natie died in the USA after a long fight with
Cancer.

The award giving ceremony was held soon after the finals where the trophy was
lifted by Annadil Ezzi in much jubilation.
