3 disabled persons benefit from EOTF

By Matilda Kirenga
Equal Opportunity Trust Fund (EOTF) has donated a tri-cycle and two wheel-chairs to three disabled persons.
The donation valued at 1,050,000/= was recently handed over to the Regional Welfare Officer, Mr. Esther Letara.
Miss Eunice Urassa, Secretary of Arusha Branch of the Tanzania Association of the Disabled (TAD) said that the beneficiaries of the donation were Felix Anthony of Railway Nursery, Zeta Augustin of Oldadai and Nicetas Pius Bureta of Engira Road, who was incapacitated after a family quarrel.
Miss Urassa said that the equipment was obtained through First Lady, Mama Anna Mkapa Fund and it was the first time her Association benefitted from EOTF donation.
Arusha Region, she said, has more than 1,000 handicapped people who all need assistance. She said that those who got the equipment were in dire need. Giving example of Felix who is ten years old, she said, he would have been in class four but he has delayed to start school as he was handicapped. After the donation he has now started nursery school.
