The Arusha based Subaru Motor team under its ace Kijenge-based driver, David
Kidawawa (Subaru Legacy) takes part in the Second leg of the National Rally
championship, which spins the muddy terrains of Tanga region this weekend.
The Baba-Dee team, had been on the bench during the first leg, which raised dust
in the Zanzibar isles, early this month, where however the Arusha Subaru team,
played a supporting role, in escorting and servicing of another Subaru Legacy
car, that was being driven by Kinjekitile Ngombale-Mwiru.
According to Boniface Kiwia the spokesperson for the Baba-Dee team, Kinjekitile
finished in the Second position and even the leading car was also a Subaru. He
added that, as agents for the vehicles here, they now have the responsibility of
ensuring the cars perform well, regardless of which teams they happen to be in.
The Baba-Dee team operates as an auspice of Dania Ventures Ltd. The sole agent
for Subaru cars and spare parts in Tanzania. During the Tanga event, in which 11
out of the 16 participating vehicles are Subarus, Baba-Dee crew will also be
playing the role of servicing the cars, in addition to participating.
Among the Rally participants is, Azar Anwar from Kenya who runs in a Subaru
Imprezza, Kirrit Pandya the defending champion who topped the Zanzibar event in
a Subaru Legacy, Pano Calvary the Iringa rally champion who recently traded his
10 year old Range rover rally machine for a Subaru, Omar Bakhresa from Dar, and
