Thanks for supporting me on Tsunami
Dear Editor,
Some time in February this year you published an article I
wrote on the issue of funds being raised in Arusha for the Tsunami victims while
our own children are starving. Soon after that I traveled out of Arusha
and did not have a chance to open my email box. I was pleasantly surprised when
I opened it today and found a ton of replies to my letter in strong support of
what I said being that charity begins at home. I quote from one of the replies
from Faraji - he says it is like feeding your neighbors children while your own
are starving. What better way to put it than that.
I wonder if the organizers of the Tsunami Charity Walk went ahead and donated
their collection to the Tsunami relief or is there a chance they had a change of
heart? It would be interesting to know. In the meantime it is gratifying to know
that I am not the only one who thinks this way. Thank you Faraji and Obiro and
all the rest of you who took time to write to me
personally. Unfortunately, I cannot write back to each one, but thank you for
your support.
