The lessons
learned from this clergy soccer match is that, most Tanzanians love
sports but the only problem is club leadership. Many people turned
up to watch this match than they have been showing up for other
similar events. Also the Muslim Sheikh, Ali Kisiwa and the Lutheran
Bishop Thomas Laizer, have displayed outstanding skills as both the
game referee and linesman.

All players
displayed remarkable moves which surprised most of us who didn’t
think that Church leaders could be so physically fit. However, there
were some cases of rule breaking among players like when some of
them moved out of the pitch without first contacting the match
conductors.

This soccer
match between Catholic priests and Protestant pastors should be a
lesson to our elderly people, because most of them have been
dismissing sports as activities for only the young. We appeal to all
"wazee" in Arusha to come forth and join or support football clubs
for older people.

It seems
like Catholic priests have been having more exercise than their
Protestant counterparts, judging by the game.
Anyway, events like this are very
important, in fact it also about time that even Catholic nuns and
female pastors from the Protestant denominations, follow suit by
forming their own teams and coming up with as interesting matches as
this one. |
