Journalists to be given free tourism trainingby Valentine Marc Nkwame
Local journalists in Arusha region, Dar es Salaam and Mwanza cities will soon be enrolled for complimentary tourism training at their respective area branches of Tropical Centre for Hotel, Tourism and Business Management. This was said by the College Principal and Director, Kongojole Mamba when speaking to local journalists in Arusha last week. The principal said his institution has three centres in Dar es Salaam, Arusha and Mwanza with each having four student intakes per year. "We shall start enrolling journalists with the July 2004 intake when six journalists, two for each branch will be taken aboard for the local tourism course", he offered. Tropical Centre also run international tourism courses using the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) curriculum, examination and certificate from the London based college. Speaking of complimentary courses, Mamba explained that his college already has; Miss Tourism Arusha, Magreth Mmari and Miss Arusha 2003 Jackline Nathan attending training as special offer from the institution for their achievements. The journalists training will be done through the Arusha
Press Club for scribes based in Arusha and with every intake two journalists
will be trained free of charge.
