Kudos for the police force

by Simba Nyamaume

The Arusha Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr. Mohamed Babu says the Police force should deal with all criminals bent on destroying peace and tranquillity and should not limit themselves to bandits.

Mr. Babu said that although banditry is among the leading and destructive crimes which may lead to loss of life and property, the Police should not ignore to deal with other forms of vices.

The RC was speaking during a party hosted by the Police force in Arusha to bid farewell the year 2003 and welcome the new year of 2004 at the Police officers’ mess in Arusha.

He stressed the need of people’s involvement in fighting crime, an exercise which he said should not be left to the Police alone.

"It is the people who know crime doers because they live with them in the community ", he said.

Mr. Babu praised the good work done by the Police in safeguarding peace and tranquillity in Arusha during the end of year holidays that included Eid ul Fitr, Christmas and the New Year festivals.
