Woman hangs herself to death

A 31-year-old woman who was a resident of Ngurdoto ward of Arumeru district has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself using her scarf.

Regional Police Commander (RPC), James Kombe named the dead woman as Anna Kanangila. He said the incident occurred last Monday, the 26^th of January at about 6.00am.

It is still not known why the woman decided to take away her life but the Police are treating the case as an issue of jilted love.

According to the RPC, their "early investigations" have revealed that the woman killed herself out of what they described as "Jealousy".

Commander Kombe said the lady is alleged to have discovered her husband with another woman, whom it is believed to be his lover, therefore driving the wife into fury.

Nobody is being held in connection with the woman’s death.
