Arusha Rhinos: Most of the players of the Tanzania Rugby National team are drawn form the team.

Arusha players form bulk of rugby national team

About three quarters of players in the Tanzania Rugby national team which is scheduled to leave for Botswana this Sunday are drawn from Arusha Rhinos.

The rugby national team will on Sunday leave for the southern African nation to compete in the regional super 16 rugby tournament.

Team’s head coach, Tinus Aucamp told the Guardian in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday that his team would play hosts Botswana on September 2 in Gaborone.

Aucamp said the team would leave with a contingent of 22 players who were selected by Tanzania Rugby Union.

The players who form the team are: Chris Hanlin, Gustav Mphusu, Jay Njwalige, Matt Febrey, Anthony Gufler and Andre Edmondson from Dar Leopards.

Others are Matt Lane, Tom Halloran, Emmanuel Motta, Dan Nicholson, Dominick Level, Mark Baker, Chris Parker, Mathew Mbando, Mike Beckener, Daniel Moore, Chris Febrey, Jeremy Stephenson and Liaan Geldenhuys, John Lloyd and Ake Lindstrom from Arusha Rhinos.

Ben Wiggins of Moshi Kili Cats is also play in the Tanzanian squad which recently thumped Burundi and Rwanda in contests held in Arusha.

Tom Lithgow is the team manager.
