Training & Development Advisor
Monitoring and Evaluation
 
Main tasks:
The Training and Development Advisor (TDA) will be responsible for coordinating and conducting courses and consultancies, including:
specialised courses and workshops in monitoring and evaluation;
integrating monitoring and evaluation approaches and skills in other courses at MS-TCDC;
consultancies and tailor-made training in areas such as developing monitoring and evaluation systems for NGOs and CBOs and Legal Government Authorities, evaluation of development programmes, baseline surveys e.t.c.

Key qualifications for this post:
Several years experience of working with monitoring and evaluation in the development sector;
Substantial background in organising and delivering training programmes, using participatory methodologies;
Training skills in one of the following areas: Advocacy, Management or Organisational capacity building will be an added advantage.

Other qualifications:
An advanced degree and well-developed analytical and writing skills;
several years of experience from working with NGOs in Africa; also within consultancies;
good knowledge of civil society and general socio-political context for development organisations in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Furthermore the ideal candidate should have:
ability to work independently as well as in a team; problem-solving and innovation capacities;
good communication and inter-personal skills; experience from working in a multi-cultural environment;
willingness to work with partners ranging from grassroots groups to larger national and international NGOs as well as government institutions.

Conditions:
MS-TCDC offers a challenging international work environment within a well-equipped campus catering for more than 1000 people each year and with a variety of programmes running concurrently. An attractive package based on qualifications and experience will be offered to the successful applicants. After three months' probation period we expect an employment perspective of at least 5 years.

MS Training Centre for Development Cooperation has more than 28 years experience in providing high quality training, consultancies and conference facilities to civil society organisations and their partners. The centre is located in Usa River outside Arusha. MS-TCDC offers kindergarten and childcare facilities (free of charge for children below 3 years) to enable you live up to family obligations while attending classesMS-TCDC is a training programme within the MS in the South (MsiS) programme of the parent NGO, MS Denmark. The centre employs 74 full time staff. The centre provides high quality training and consultancies in community development, management, advocacy and other related fields to civil society organisations and their partners. We also offer Swahili courses and conference facilities. Our main focus is Eastern and Southern Africa.
