Arusha teeming with beauty aspirantsby Staff Writer A total of 13 regional beauty queens form Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Manyara and Arusha regions, have already gathered in town, warming up for the grand Northern Zone’s beauty pageant set for next Friday, the 6th August. The beauties include, Miss Tanga 2004; Mishi Omari, her first runner- up; Chuchu Hans; and second runner- up, Pili Miraji. From Kilimanjaro comes, Miss Kilimanjaro 2004; Susan Mwenda, the first runner -up; Happiness Adolph; second- runner up, Julie Ben, all coming from Moshi. The Manyara beauty line up consists of Teddy Laizer, the Miss Manyara 2004; Jema Lilama, her first runner- up; and Upendo Mlay, the second runner up. The hosting region of Arusha have been privileged to field four contestants who are: Agness Magnuss, the Miss Arusha 2004; Lilian Mollel, the second winner, Rachel Matemu, the third winner; and Cecilia Cornelius, the fourth winner. The beauties have set their camp at Loitay Lodge in town, as they flex their muscles at daily exercises plus training at the Triple "A" hall every evening. Triple "A", Blue Hall, will also serve as main venue for the "Miss Northern Zone 2004" beauty pageant which for the first time this year is being organized by crown International Entertainment (CIE) in conjunction with the Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL). Top three winners of the next week’s pageant, who include, Miss Northern Zone 2004, the first runner up and second runner up will be taking part in the forthcoming national beauty pageant, Miss Ocean Sandals Tanzania to be held in Dar es Salaam. Sponsors for this year’s Northern zone beauty event include, Darsh Industries Limited (Red Gold), Benson On-Line (BOL), Ocean Sandals Millennium 2000, and Image Motors. In the course of this week, the beauties will be visiting local children homes where they will be distributing prizes and the Regional Hospital of Mount Meru.
