On Sunday July 18th the General Tyre Sports Grounds where the Arusha Wazee Club members congregate every week for their Sunday football exercises will also be a venue for an Interdenominational and International Choir presentation.

The Choir based in Arusha has already made similar presentations in several venues in Arusha and Dar es Salaam. But on that Sunday it will be the first time it is doing so in the open and in front of a cross section of members of the local and international community and their families who form the majority of the Wazee Club members.

According to the Co-ordinator of the event, Emmanuel Ntoko from Cameroon, the presentation is part of the Choir’s efforts to involve members of the Arusha community in the various charitable programs the choir is running.

The Vice-Chairman of the Wazee Club, Danford Mpumilwa, has appealed to members to come along with their spouses and children as well a friends and relatives on that day to make the event a success.

On that day interested members will be invited to contribute to the various charitable programs run by the Choir which include orphans, street children and HIV victims.

Meanwhile the Arusha Wazee Club last Sunday beat the Dutch Community football team 3-2 in a grueling match played at the General Tyre Sports grounds.

Later both teams agreed that they should establish long lasting relationships and actually the process began by eating together two roasted goats. To seal their new found relationship the Wazee Club bought drinks to members of the Dutch team and the later ‘revenged’ by offering the same to the Wazee members.

The Dutch team promised to invite the Wazee team in the near future to their home ground for a return match.
