Swiss hotelier slained at his homeby Arusha times Reporter Criminals, suspected to be six in number, last week shot dead a Swiss investor, Walter Peter, 42, at his home in Ngongongare village, Arumeru district. They also stole items whose value has not yet been determined. Regional Police Commander (RPC), James Kombe, told reporters that this tragic incident happened in the midnight of June 30. He said that the killers broke through the front door of the deceased’s home using a screw driver. "After breaking the door, they went inside and that is when the late Mr. Peter tried to confront them. During the struggle, the thieves shot him in the right side of the chest and he died instantly. "The RPC went on to say that after shooting the deceased, the thieves stole a video deck, two mobile phones, a decoder as well as other valuables. According to Mrs Peter, wife of the deceased, the thieves searched in different parts of the house for money but were unsuccessful as no money was kept inside. The killers shot into the air before leaving Peter’s home.
