20 vie for Arusha, Manyara beauty titlesMiss Manyara pockets gem worth 1.5 m/-by Staff Reporter As from Saturday the 3rd of July to next Friday, about 20 girls will be vying for two regional beauty titles of Miss Arusha and Miss Manyara. Miss Manyara, set to be staged at the Manyara Inn hall in Mererani area of Simanjiro, is being organized by JJ Promotions of Arusha. Participants for Miss Manyara beauty title, include, Neema Julius (22), Latifa Hashim (18), Jemma Likama (22), Rachel Daniel (20) and Teddy Laizer (19), among others. The "Miss Manyara" beauty queen walks away with a Tanzanite gemstone valued at Tsh.1.5 million, which sets a record of being the most valuable prize ever offered to beauty pageants at regional level. Miss Arusha beauty pageant on the other hand is set to be staged at the "Triple A" Blue-Fame hall next Friday, July 9 from 8.00om. The contest is being organized by Saida Kessy and the top prize for Miss Arusha 2004 is Tsh.400,000, the second winner Tsh.300,000 and the third Tsh.200,000. Top three winners from each of the two beauty pageants will represent their respective regions to the zonal beauty pageant, organized by Crown Entertainment and Promotions, which is set to be held in Arusha at the end of this month.
