Arusha Cricket Community rallies behind friendBy our correspondent
The Arusha cricket community will be hosting a six aside tournament on Sunday the 13th of June at Braeburn School oval in support of a fellow player and friend who was recently taken ill. Natie Oelofse, a member of the Arusha Wanderers team, was recently diagnosed with cancer in South Africa, where he is currently undergoing intensive treatment. Mr. Oelofse has been actively involved with cricket in Arusha for the past few seasons, working tirelessly to improve facilities available to all players. The entire cricket community wishes to extend their best wishes to Mr. Oelofse and his family at this difficult time. He is in the prayers of all the players and their families and everyone looks forward to seeing him back on the cricket pitches of Arusha in the near future. The six aside tournament at Braeburn next Sunday is set to start at 8.30am and all are welcome to lend their support. Donations will be collected at the ground towards a charity of Mr. Oelofse’s choice.
