Mama Terry lashes out at use of condoms

Popular Radio Talk Show personality, Mrs Terry Gbemundu, alias
"Mama Terry", has vehemently opposed the use of condoms as the ultimate solution
in the prevention of HIV-AIDS.
Mama Terry, who is currently in Arusha, doing one of her
research studies, maintained that condoms were not only proving to be useless in
the fight against HIV/AIDS but are currently fueling promiscuous sexual
behaviour. "We all know that, sex intentions originate from the brain but
condoms simply cover the organ", she said amid applause adding that, effective
condoms will be the one that cover the brain.
"Abstinence is the only way out!" she explained. Mama Terry
also warned that condoms have become "passports" into sex as people now focus on
"Protected" sex instead of considering the moral implications behind it.
The Talk Show celebrity was speaking during this week’s Arusha
Press Club (APC) ceremony to launch its new leadership and revised club’s
constitution at the Golden Rose Hotel.
Mama Terry had previously caused an uproar when she accused
the Tanzanian Members of Parliament of extensive indulgence in promiscuous sex
during the assembly sessions in Dodoma. Whenever the sessions were on many
female sex workers flock Dodoma for business.
The assembly summoned Mama Terry for probing and at the end of
which, the Radio personality filed a lawsuit, complaining of harassment.
Mama Terry usually conducts her talk show programmes via the
Dar es Salaam- based FM Station, Radio One.
