Mosses Mwizarubi: Sky is the limit!Early this year, an Arusha student, Mosses Mwizarubi, was summoned by President Benjamin Mkapa to Dodoma where the President lauded him before the parliament for his outstanding performance in last year’s National secondary school examinations. The eldest son of Bishop Leonard Mwizarubi of the Evangelical Assemblies of God (EAGT) church, Mosses steps on the Carpet this week to give us a few tips for success.By Nyamanoko Bwire. QUESTION: Could you briefly give us your academic background?
ANSWER: I was enrolled at Sinon Primary school in 1991 and was a pupil there for four years until 1994. When in Class Four, I transferred to Uhuru primary where I completed my primary education in 1998. I was then selected to join Ilboru Secondary where I studied from Form one to four after which I was chosen to joint he Advance level classes. I intend to finish my A level studies here. Q: So what is the secret behind your success? A: Good support from my fellow students and teachers at Ilboru and of course my parents especially. They have been providing me with everything that I required; books, school fees and advise. Again, God has been my main pillar of support, for I am a born again Christian. Success also requires high discipline, no unruly person has ever succeeded. Q: Do you happen to have any brothers or sisters at home? A: Yes. I am the first born in the Mwizarubi family. The second born, my sister has just completed O’ level at Arusha Secondary and she intends to continue with her A’ level education as well. There is also another younger sister and the brother who is our last born at home. Q: What do you intend to become later? A: There are two options here. Once I am through with higher education it will be either a career in computer technology or Accounting, I haven’t decided yet though, because I love both fields. Apparently, I am taking a combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM), which means I can always afford to be an electronic engineer or mathematician. Q: How did you get to hear that the President wanted you in Dodoma? A: I got the information as son as I joined the Form Five class here at Ilboru. The Headmaster informed me. My fellow students were very happy with me and cheered a lot when I got back, even my parents were delighted it was my happiest moment. Q: Do you have any hobbies? A: Music. After class work or on weekends I take time off to practise on musical instruments mainly keyboard (Piano) and guitar. I love music, but especially singing Gospel songs plus playing the accompanying instruments. Q: And what have you accomplished so far in music? A: I have already written about 30 songs that I intend to record as soon as I finish school, because I don’t want music to interfere with my studies at the moment. My love for music was highly fuelled by singers like; Charles
Jangalason, Yusto Onesmus and the Upendo Group of Kijitonyama, Dar es salaam,
all being local gospel singers. In fact, if all goes well, some of my tracks
will be recorded as duets with both Jangalason and Yusto.
