Brice-Bennet is TATO’s new chairmanBy Thomas Ratsim The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO) has unanimously elected Mr. Seamus Brice-Bennet its Chairman. The elections were conducted during the Association’s Annual General Meeting held on March 25 at Impala Hotel. Mr. Bennet, who is Managing Director of the Marangu Hotels has hitherto been Vice Chairman of the Association. He takes over the position from Mr. Damian Bell, who served TATO in that position for two terms of two years each. He did not stand for this year’s elections. "Your association is going to be more and more of a key player in your business as time goes by, do not wait until that time comes, you might not realize until it is too late, commit yourself now and participate," emphasized the out-going Chairman. Subject to the newly amended constitution, Mr. Bell will also serve as Immediate Past Chairman for a period of one year in order to hand down the experience and knowledge attained during the tenure of Chairman. The meeting also elected Mr. Abbas Moledina, Director of Ranger Safaris Limited as Vice Chairman. Newly elected councillors are: Mr. John Bennet, Mr. Mark Lawson. Mr. Jordan D'Souza, Mr. Gary Strand and Ms. Mary Strauss. TATO, which was established to co-ordinate and spearhead members' representation, currently has 111 active members all over the country. .
