NSSF donates mosquito nets to Mount Meru Hospital

The Arusha Chapter of the National Security Fund (NSSF) has donated a total of 100 insecticide treated mosquito nets (ITNs) to the Mount Meru Regional Hospital.

Handing over the donation to the Acting Regional Medical Officer, Dr. Harold Mariki, the Chief Manager of NSSF, Mathew L. Mwakatobe, said this was part of the activities to mark the inaugural NSSF week in Arusha.

The mosquito nets, valued at Tsh.300,000, are just some of the community support projects that the Social Security Fund is planning to deal with as part of its social services.

According to Mwakatobe, NSSF which marks the 40th year milestone of service in the country will soon launch special health benefits for its members.

In celebrating the milestone and observing the first NSSF week, the Fund has been involving itself with various community projects such as conducting HIV-AIDS workshops for staff members, visiting orphanages and arranging sporting activities.

Regional Commissioner, Mr. Mohamed Babu, was scheduled to officiate the climax of these activities and the NSSF week in general at the special ceremony to be held at the Golden Rose Hotel this Saturday evening.
