Child defiled while grazing cattle

by Happy Lazaro

A Class Two girl of Maroroni primary school was sexually defiled while grazing cattle in an isolated area within the Maroroni village in Arumeru district.

Last week, the person who is alleged to have committed the offence appeared before the Resident Magistrate, Shadrack Ringo.

Public prosecutor, Inspector Stellah Rweyemamu told the court that the accused, Gipson Olta Urio, defiled the 10-year-old girl in the evening of October 19 this year.

The girl, according to court charges, was keeping an eye on her family’s livestock, when the accused pounced on her.

It is reported that a woman who was passing by heard the girl screams and decided to investigate. When she saw the ordeal she screamed for help prompting the molester to flee.

The woman lifted the girl from the bush then took her home where the child explained to her mother what happened.

The family reported the incident to the Police who arrested the suspect.
