Cyclist crashes to his death

A speeding motor cycle with registration numbered ZNZ 3222 being ridden by Filbert Elisante (27), hit an electric post last Saturday, killing its rider instantly.

The accident occurred at about 15:30 hours in Mererani area of Simanjiro district, Manyara region, on the 8^th of November.

Regional Police Commander, James Kombe, said the residents in the area saw the late Elisante riding rather recklessly before hitting the post.

Motor cycles ridden at terrific speed are a major threat to lives in Arusha town and Mererani mining area of Simanjiro.

The Regional Police Commander said that the motorcycles have been causing a lot of traffic problems. He warned motor cyclists and motorists to observe traffic regulations or face drastic measures.
