Identical murders raise questionsby Happy Lazaro Under mysterious circumstances, two dead persons, whose parts of their bodies were found to have been gnawed off, have been discovered in both Arusha municipality and Simanjiro district within one week. A resident of Lemshuku village of Simanjiro, Ahimidiwe Paulo (35), was found dead in Kidawasi forest of Simanjiro, last Saturday, the 1st of November 2003. His body had been stabbed with a sharp object just below his chest, the nose gnawed off, eye sockets scooped off, lips bitten off and chin badly damaged. Paulo was previously reported missing from his home, on Sunday, the 26th of October 2003, before being discovered dead by shepherds a week later. The Modus Operandi of Paulo killers is strikingly similar to the person(s) who killed the unidentified woman in Eland Motel room within the Arusha municipality. The woman, who was also stabbed below the chest with a sharp object, had her nose gnawed off, lips beaten off and chin chewed off, when the deceased body was discovered on Monday, the 27th of October. Coincidentally! The woman is believed to have been murdered on Sunday, the 26th of October, the same day and date on which Paulo was reported missing in Simanjiro. The local Police are working on both cases to see whether these could have been a link in both incidents. Regional Police Commander, James Kombe has confirmed both incidents adding that, some residents of Simanjiro where one of the deaths had occurred, believe that there must have been some witchcraft intentions behind the murder. The Police are continuing with investigations regarding both deaths and residents have been called upon to go and try to identify the dead woman’s body at the mortuary.
