Next front, water blues
Like the sun and the air
Like algae and moss on rocks
With camels that persevere
Or the lizards of Kalahari
Water the link of life
Like the sun and the air
Water in its purity and sanctity
In glaciers and rivers of history
With the Nile meandering like snake
Life and civilization is water
Still in vaults of earth crusts for life
Though scant and salty for thirsty
And now the next front in making
Like algae and moss on rocks
Or the dinosaurs that roamed the earth
Varnishing like vapour with heat
With Sahara spreading in hips of dunes
Is water varnishing in haste?
Not like diamonds and slaves
That fattened America and Albion
Not like black gold and ivory
With ivory towers splendor
That the west cherishes as riches
From Africa and afar
Water blues the final front
That will shed blood profusely
Not like the intrigues of commerce
Much like the ancient merchants of Venice
Water there for human kind
Not metric kilos to count
Or replenish like the lust for power
That leaves the globe bleeding
God forbade this front
For life is that sweet
And water is life |
