Solder's Soul and Mind

Clad in combat and weaponry
With blowsy winds that terrify
Ghostly beaded shadows looming
Teenagers scared to the guts
Chasing the fathoms of illusions

Only recently Jimmy flown home
His casket clad with colours of the nation
With heroes salutations awaiting him
Though his mother crying bitterly
With Doris dreams shattered forever
My soul and mind clouded with dreams
Wish was home with mom and safe

With bombs now rocking Baghdad
Though the war is over!
If not for the bloody Syria!
No, No, all of them
But poor me
Embroiled in dreams and fantasies

Wish was in Harvard with them
Sharpening my wit with knowledge
As deals hatch by day
With me in war and stupid
Wish was home with Mom and Daddy

Standing here!
Standing here!
Damn me!
Damn me!
Wish was home with Mom and Daddy
