Swedish teacher donates soccer balls to Regional team and Arusha School

Arusha School staff soccer team which recently thrashed Naasha Junior Academy 2-1

A visiting Swedish sports delegate, has donated 20 soccer balls to the Arusha Football Club (AFC) and Arusha primary school as his contribution towards boosting soccer in the region.

Per Sandberg, who is the Chairman of NGIS, the Swedish Sports Association, is in town as a special guest to the Arusha School.

Sandberg, a teacher by profession donated 10 soccer balls to his hosting school of Arusha primary and 10 other soccer balls to the regional team (AFC).

The presentation of the balls valued at over Tsh.26,000 was made last week at the Sheikh Amri Abeid stadium shortly after the match between AFC and Mtibwa Sugar FC from Morogoro.

Meanwhile, Arusha school thrashed Naasha Junior Academy 2-1 in a recent friendly soccer match which took place at the school sports grounds, last week.

The pupils match also went in sync with teachers match, in which again Arusha school staff beat their Naasha counterparts 2-1.

Scorers in the two football games on the side of Arusha school were Ramadhan Chengula, Otto Chagula and Chacha Raphael.
