Why shun AFC in favour of schools and Wazee sports?Dear Editor, I would like to request your paper to carry more news of our local team AFC (Arusha Football Club) and others like Pallsons FC that play in the Vodacom Premier League. This is for the benefit of fans of AFC like myself who are presently abroad. For the first time since the premier league started two teams from Arusha have played in the Nane Bora (eight best) phase and fans of AFC like myself would like to follow the progress of the team. What better way than to read about it in the Arusha Times? Presently, I am forced to read the IPP media news about the Premier league and ACF. Your paper is read by many people, in Arusha and abroad. I personally think that if you carried more news about the Premier League and our local teams then it would give the impression that football is played at a high level in Tanzania (of course not as high as the premier in England or other European countries). I would also like to point out another thing, your paper (in the sports section) carries news about school sports mostly and the wazees football on Sunday which would give any sports enthusiast the impression that apart from school level and fun, sports is not played in Arusha at any other level. I hope you will consider my request.

Dear Editor,
Much as one would like to sympathise with Mr. Y. Sanchez about the distorted image given to witchcraft by the report on Nora Makundi's murder, it is very clear that he missed the sad message that a young life has been taken and the police will use any help to get the killers(Arusha Times September 27- October 3). Please Mr. Sanchez get a grip and spare a thought for the girls family and loved ones.

Dear Editor
I was wondering if you could possibly help me. I was born in Mbeya, grew up in Moshi and went to school at Arusha School. I now live in Denmark with my wife and two children. Now is the time to show my kids the most wonderful place in the world and where I had the best time in my life. When in Arusha I would like to introduce my family to a very old friend of mine whom I have unfortunately lost contact with. His name is Reggie Spry. I last talked to him in 1988 and he then lived in Arusha. Could you possibly help me find my fiend’s Address.

Dear Editor,
Although victory is sweet and cause of much celebration, the kind of football
displayed last week by Simba when playing against Enyimba from Nigeria for their
second-leg match, left a lot to be desired in terms of good patterns and
players’ individual skills. One could not count the number of blind passes,
stupid moves and wide shots directed at Enyimba’s goalmouth.
Players got, to mention a few, more than ten (10) scoring opportunities but failed to effectively use them to beat the Enyimba’s goalkeeper. Simba players and management should not sleep on their laurels and sink into complacency, for the road is still rough and tough. More polishing is needed and a sense of purpose instilled into the players’ minds because the next opponent (ASEC MIMOSA) of Côte d’Ivoire are a hard nut to crack when playing on home ground and before their crowd.
