‘Use sports to fight AIDS’By Emmanuel Shija, Arusha
Arusha’s Regional Commissioner, Mohamed Babu has urged sport leaders of to find ways of rescuing sports talents from perishing in the HIV-AIDS scourge. Mr. Babu was addressing sports officers last weekend during the closing ceremony of sports leaders and sports administrators held at Golden Rose Hotel. The Regional Commissioner that sports fields and camps have the ability to pull crowds of people together and this is an opportunity to educate people on the disease and how to curb its spread. He said that the Government recognized how import sports are in uniting people and achieving set objectives. The Seminars gathered 50 participants from 12 regions in Tanzania namely, Dodoma, Singida, Ruvuma, Mwanza, Kagera, Tabora, Shinyanga, Mara, Tanga, Kilimanjaro, Manyara and Arusha.
