Youth steals his father’s gun

Twenty-year-old Meida Fabiano of Barai village in Mbulumbulu location of Karatu district is alleged to have stolen a gun from his father and intended to use it in robbery.

Fabiono, who is currently being held by the Police, is said to have committed the offence in the night of August 26, at Lotia village, Karatu.

The man is reported to have stolen the firearm with serial number 73526 and two bullets from his father, Fabiano Karani (77) at about 8.00 p.m

Karani discovered that his gun had just been stolen and suspecting his son for the theft, he set out hither to report the matter to the police.

The police then followed the young man’s trails that very night and succeeded to arrest him at the Kilimatembo village.

It was suspected the son was on his way to commit a crime that night.

Regional Police Commander (RPC), has confirmed this incident saying, the accused is still being held by the Police and assisting in further investigations on the case.
