Man chops off his genitals with knife

He claims they’ve been causing him sleeplessness

A resident of Matui village in Kiteto district of Manyara region has chopped off his genitals. Claudie John (24), who is lying in critical condition at the Kiteto district hospital, admits to have mutilated his body parts for what he claims to be "...The lack of sleep!"

According to John, his genitals were giving him insomnia, something that has been tormenting him for three days, therefore he decided to "remove them".

Regional Police Commander (RPC), James Kombe, confirmed the incident, adding that it occurred in the early morning of Thursday, the 4^th of September this year, at about 5.00 a.m.

The man, is suffering in great pains due to the wounds.

John told the medical attendants at the hospital that he had used a sharp knife to sever his genitals. Doctors say, the patient had lost much blood before good Samaritan found and took him to hospital.
