Lyimo wins WVT charity golf meet

Perfect Lyimo carded 21 points in the first nine and 20 points in the second nine for a total of 41 points to win the Charity Golf Competition played last Saturday at the Gymkhana Club.

The Charity Golf Competition was sponsored by World Vision Tanzania (WVT) in support for " fight for children’s rights".

Honorable Edward Lowassa (MP), Minister for Water and Livestock Development graced the occasion by teeing off the ball which went about 50 yards, but straight on the fairway.

The runner up position was taken by David Chappell who played a flawless round in the early morning bringing in 20 points each in the first and second nine, with a total of 40 points.

Louis Mollel brought in 21 stable ford points to win a price in the first nine. Mr. R. Orr who plays off handicap 9 was the 2nd nine winner with 20 points.

Sophia Viggo from TPC carded 21 points in the first nine and 20 points in the second nine for a total of 41 points to win the ladies price, followed by Mrs. J Ifill who brought in 15 points in the first nine and 20 points in the second nine for a total of 35.

C. Mbuya who shot 12 points in the first nine and brought in 17 points for a total of 29 won the junior prize.

After the price giving there was an auction where golfers and other members of the Arusha Gymkhana Club raised a total of T.Shs. 895,000/= which was handed over to the World Vision in support of the "Fight for Children’s rights"
