‘Provide jobs, not condoms’By Naomi Mwakasege of TSJ Governmental and Non Governmental Organizations should address youth unemployment as one of the ways of fighting the HIV/AIDS scourge rather than devote their efforts in condom distribution. Speaking to Arusha Times early this week in his office at Ngarenaro, Rev. Joel Senny who is the leader of the Infinity Glory Ministries Church in Arusha region said that engaging the youths in productive work would go a long in curbing the epidemic than mere distribution and emphasizing the use of condoms. Employment can keep the youths busy physically and mentally and they will have little time to think of sex or engage themselves in other vices like drugs and consuming alcohol which lead them to promiscuous habits, he said. "HIV/AIDS is spiritual terrorism. It kills more people that terrorists do. We can fight the situation first by fighting unemployment, hunger and poverty." Said Rev. Senny. He quoted statistics estimating that about 20 percent of Tanzanians are infected with the virus that causes AIDS.
