Govt. offers Tsh 297 million grant to Mweka College.

The Mweka College of African Wildlife Management, based in Moshi , Kilimanjaro region , will start receiving annual grants from the Government effective September this year.

College Principal , Deogratias Gammassa, said that the Tsh, 297 million grant, is meant to take care of the institution’s staff salaries. In view of that , the college intends to employ more staff members soon.

According to Gammassa , the grant would help to reduce the burden of high fees charged to the college students.

Established in 1963 , the Mweka college of African wildlife Management, which started with 25 students, now serves 26 African countries and 16 Non- African countries.

A total of 3050 students have so far graduated from Mweka, among them 349 female students .The Collage offers training at Certificate, post graduate and Diploma levels and series of Modular and short courses.
